Education Home | K-12th | Homework | Preschool Religious School- Pre-K through 12thPre-K Program
This class meets two times a month. Jewish holidays, customs and traditions are explored through art, music, stories and special projects. Primary School
In these grades, we seek to lay a firm foundation of Hebrew and Judaics upon which our children’s Jewish education will be built. Middle School
The Middle School curriculum builds upon the basic concepts and values transmitted in the first years of school. While grades 4 through 7 are conventionally treated as the “Bar/Bat Mitzvah years” we also strive to provide our students with skills, a way of thinking, and a set of values that will serve them throughout their lives. Upper School
Our Upper School Judaic curriculum is designed with the special needs and interests of our teens in mind. The 8th through 10th grade classes give our students the opportunity to learn and discuss traditional Jewish values and how they apply in the world today. Confirmation Class
For many of our older teens this year is the best. The students meet with the rabbi and are challenged to understand how Judaism plays a role in their lives. Classes include a number of guest speakers, regular Torah study, a visit to a local church, and a variety of interactive programs always accompanied by refreshments. This is a year of growth and learning that culminates in a beautiful Shavuot service during which some of our Confirmands share thoughts about how the class transformed their life and appreciation of Judaism. Dor v’Dor (The Next Generation)
In a warm and safe environment students are encouraged to explore their Jewish identity and appreciate the impact they can have on their relationships, community and world. Jewish text, biblical stories, contemporary movies/songs and discussions serve as the medium whereby our teens learn. This program gets rave reviews from our students. Tutoring This program is geared for students ages 8 through 13 who need small group instruction to support their progress in Hebrew. Support for Students with Special Needs Our goal is to provide an environment in which all students can feel welcome and can experience success. We will provide such supports as one-on-one aides, utilization of behavioral techniques and cooperative planning with parents and other professional to ensure student success. Family Education Temple Isaiah is committed to strengthening the Jewish family with a series of Family Education Workshops. Sessions will focus on issues of concern to Jewish families. Families will have an opportunity to share ideas and to learn from each other’s experiences. The Director of Temple Isaiah Religious School, Margaret Gold, has many years of experience in Jewish Education, Special/Elementary Education and Curriculum Development. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree from Towson University. |
