Shabbat

Shabbat, the Festivals and the Holy Days form the core of our spiritual experience and expression. The Temple provides a number of worship formats that reflect the richness of our prayer and ritual traditions. Friday night services begin at 8 PM. The fourth Friday of the month is an early Kabbalat Shabbat Service starting at 7:30 PM. This shorter service is an excellent introduction to synagogue life for families with young children. There is no Torah reading and a story or d’var torah is given. Often, the Oneg is accompanied by Israeli dancing. Saturday morning services are held at 10:30 AM. There can be a double B’nai Mitzvah, which is open to the congregation, and/or a Shabbat service/Torah discussion in the multi-purpose room.

Family Holiday Worship

Holiday services are held at 7:30 PM on the eve of the festival and are an important celebration for the entire family. The Temple follows the traditional calendar in its observance. Yizkor services are held on Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret, Passover and Shavuot.

High Holy Days

Red TorahSelichot Services initiate the Days of Repentance and begin the process of reflection and teshuvah. The Congregation observes two days of Rosh Hashanah and families gather at our twenty acre campus to observe the custom of Tashlich. On Selichot the Cantor and Choir jointly provide the music, as well as the Choir leading the music for Shabbat Shuva, on the Friday between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. This beautiful music serves as the appropriate introduction to the introspective nature of the Day of Atonement. In the afternoon of the Holy Day, the Temple sponsors a "Congregants' Hour" where members share personal reflections on significant themes. There are youth services (for Middle School students) on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur as well as children’s services for youngsters two to eight. Young children’s activities are provided under teen supervision in separate rooms during the adult Holy Day services.
