A Message From the Rabbi...

Rabbi Mark J. Panoff Pirke Avot (Ethics of the Ancestors) quotes Hillel as teaching: “Be of the disciples of Aaron, loving peace and pursuing it, loving your fellow creatures, and drawing them near to the Torah.” With the building of a new spiritual home and the establishment of a twenty-acre campus for Jewish life, the Temple is entering an exciting and transformative period. Our beautiful setting though is not an end in itself, but a means to an end. As Hillel’s statement reveals, Jewish life must be for an ultimate purpose.

We are creating a legacy for the future. The doors of our synagogue are open to all those who are seeking to question, to grow and to learn. We recognize that each of us is on a life journey to understand our niche in a universe that is filled with wonder and sometimes with mystery. And on this journey the Temple and the synagogue community can play a supportive and instructive role. In the spirit of Aaron’s disciples, we seek to bring people closer to Torah and to an appreciation of the lessons and values of our heritage. We are doing our part to observe mitzvot, to repair a fractured world and to bring peace where there is strife. We offer pathways to celebration, opportunities for friendship, and moments of meaning that will touch the heart and uplift the soul.

We invite your inquiries and welcome your interest in our growing and dynamic community.

L’Shalom,
Rabbi Mark J. Panoff
