Founded in 1970, Temple Isaiah has grown over the last four decades into a vibrant and thriving home for Reform Judaism in Howard County Maryland. We are a congregation where people of diverse backgrounds connect with one another through active involvement in the life of the temple.
For well over two thousand years, the synagogue has served three distinct purposes for the Jewish people.
A Beit Midrash – a house of study. Here at Temple Isaiah, we seek to educate our young and nurture life-long learners through engaging schools, adult-education and a never-ending quest for deeper knowledge and experience.
A Beit Tefillah – a house of prayer. Rabbi Axler and Cantor Droller lead us in uplifting, innovative worship grounded firmly in tradition. Shabbat, holidays, life-cycle moments – all of these are times that we reach and yearn towards God with the language of our heritage.
A Beit Kenesset – a house of gathering. Our community reaches out to each other in times of need and assembles to celebrate the joys of life. There are varied groups at Temple Isaiah that come together through common interest, for common good, and simply to gather in friendship.
If you are visiting Temple Isaiah's website for the first time, we welcome you to explore all we have to offer – engaging learning, meaningful prayer and genuine connections. Even more so, we welcome you to come by, join us for worship or a program, or for a tour of our synagogue. If you are already a part of this vibrant community, welcome to our new website – we look forward to seeing you in shul (synagogue).
